Many aftermarket intakes use oversized filters in enclosures that cannot accommodate them, restricting airflow and reducing efficiency. To address this, 034Motorsport conducted extensive testing and refinement, resulting in a design that provides the right filter in the right housing, delivering OEM-level filtration with peak airflow and performance.
The X34 Cold Air Intake System was developed specifically for the twin-turbo 2.9 TFSI engine in the latest-generation B9 Audi RS5. This intake provides noticeable increases in horsepower and torque, along with enhanced induction and turbocharger sounds, while showcasing a high-quality carbon fiber airbox and inlet pipe design.
Throughout development, multiple designs were modeled, prototyped, and tested to ensure both performance gains and perfect fitment. The final system features a partially-enclosed airbox that integrates with the factory fresh air duct and heat shield while housing a massive 5-inch conical air filter. Air is directed through a CFD-optimized carbon fiber filter tube for smooth, high-velocity flow to the throttle body.
Constructed from premium carbon fiber with a high-gloss epoxy finish, the intake maintains OEM+ fitment and includes a reinforced metal inner ring at the clamp points for added durability. The system improves airflow compared to the factory airbox, enhances throttle response, reduces intake air temperatures, and produces dyno-proven gains in both horsepower and torque. Installation is simple and secure using factory mounting grommets.
Included with the X34 Cold Air Intake System are the carbon fiber airbox, carbon fiber inlet pipe, high-performance 5-inch conical air filter, and a silicone hose. The system is designed for 2018 to present Audi RS5 (B9) 2.9 TFSI models.
